Which Kind of Dentures Are for Me?

Dentures certainly aren't one-size-fits-all. The team at Partridge Creek Dental will learn more about your unique circumstances and recommend the type of denture that most closely matches your needs. Here's a quick overview of the common types of denture:

  • Full Dentures—Also known as complete dentures, this type of denture consists of an upper and lower set of teeth. They may be made of porcelain or acrylic and are typically removable. If you take proper care of your full dentures, they can last up to 10 years.
  • Partial Dentures—Perhaps you're not missing a full mouth of teeth, but only a few on either side of your face. In that case, partial dentures will likely be the best choice for you. These custom dentures are designed to fill the gaps left by missing teeth while using natural teeth as anchor points.
  • Temporary Dentures—Temporary or immediate dentures are used while a permanent set of dentures is being fabricated. After all, you don't want to go without teeth for the weeks between the extraction and final fitting!
